Kevin Fard, Esq.

Kevin is an experienced and passionate attorney who finds the most meaningful and challenging work to be standing up for underdog clients against the government, insurance companies and large corporations.

Kevin focuses his practice on criminal and DUI defense in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California, representing clients charged with anything from first-time misdemeanors facing small fines and probation to violent felonies facing thousands of dollars of fines and several years in prison.  Prior to opening up his own office, Kevin managed the criminal defense department of a multi-attorney Los Angeles law firm.  Kevin has defended hundreds of clients in every criminal courthouse and DMV driver safety office in Los Angeles and Orange County in addition to Ventura, Riverside, Kern, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

Kevin also has extensive civil litigation experience representing clients in employment law matters including wrongful termination to wage and hour violations, personal injury matters ranging from automobile accidents to property owner negligence and civil harassment restraining order matters.

Before practicing law, Kevin attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in History.  During that time Kevin also spent time working as congressional staff intern on Capitol Hill.  Kevin then received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.

It only took a few weeks of law school for Kevin to realize passion for defending those accused of crimes, which he carries to this day.  After his first year Kevin accepted an internship in the Public Defender’s Office (Defensoría Penal Pública) in Santiago, Chile.  When he got back to the States he began clerking at the San Diego County Alternate Public Defender’s Office, Adult Criminal Division where he worked on serious felony cases ranging from high profile murder, attempted murder, robbery, burglary, gang allegations, sex crimes, drug/narcotic possession, sales and trafficking and domestic violence cases to highly specialized sexually violent predator cases.

Kevin also spent time in the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office of Children’s Counsel assisting in the advocacy and defense of children caught-up in the foster system.  After graduating law school and sitting for the bar exam, Kevin was accepted into the Graduate Fellowship in Criminal Law at the University of San Diego School of Law where Kevin’s research and analysis helped the development of a Criminal Law textbook.
